we are against the inclusion of Babbacombe as a neighbourhood centre. We support its inclusion as a local centre, based on the following:
Neighbourhood Centres ‘contain shops and facilities of purely neighbourhood significance’ as per the Local Plan.
Babbacombe comprises of many destination shops and restaurants which attract customers from across the town, beyond the local neighbourhood alone,
this shops and restaurant offer a variety of services and products to customers
- various restaurants including a fully gluten free restaurant that benefits all coeliacs visiting Torbay
- Many varied shops that are not only meant for purely neighbourhood top ups
