Strategic Policy HS: Overall Housing Strategy and Presumption in favour of Urban Regeneration
Representation ID: 663
Received: 02/02/2026
Respondent: Dolphin Boatyard
We run a boatyard in Galmpton and are very concerned at the proposals to build more unaffordable housing adjacent the Inglewood, Mathill and Gliddon sites. These proposed developments would place unsustainable pressure on the traffic junction at Windy corner which's already over capacity and limits our business operations. We need affordable rented council housing for our staff and workers who are invaluable in supporting the marine sector in the locality. We strongly support the councils initiative in developing sustainable brownfield sites as council housing instead of greenfield development adjacent ANOB with the attendant light pollution to the the River Dart.
