Strongly support the comprehensive protections in Chapter 9, particularly Policy L5 (ULPAs) and Policy L6 (Local Green Spaces). These 'green lungs' are essential for the mental health of our residents and provide a vital 'point of difference' for Torquay’s urban character. Endorse the plan's focus on Policy GE1 and our UNESCO Global Geopark status, which correctly identifies our geological heritage as a key economic and cultural asset. Crucially, we support the 'nature-positive' approach of Policy NC3 (Biodiversity Net Gain) and Policy NC4 (Light Pollution); we must protect not just the spaces themselves, but the delicate wildlife within them Our natural environment is our greatest infrastructure asset.
